Volunteer Opportunities

In-Person and Virtual Monthly Den Update

As COVID continues with the Omicron BA.2 variant, several of our partner in-person/indoor dens remain on pause or are open with limited guest services that adhere to COVID protocols. We continue monitoring their status while hosting virtual dens and exploring new partnerships (view updates below and in News).

Despite the pandemic's ongoing challenges and impact, it is no match against handwriting's power to stay connected.  If you have not done already, please consider 'putting pen to paper' giving thanks, offering help, or providing hope to someone who matters. From those  who continue fighting the virus and to those you are missing and love. Also supporting The Writing Den and our Partners!

How You Can Help

Over 100,000 homeless need help to re-establish relationships, pursue work opportunities, and create the possibility of sustained housing in New York, Seattle, and San Diego (#1, #3 and #7 U.S. cities with the largest concentration of homelessness). Volunteering live or virtual with The Writing Den may be one of the best ways to help with these efforts and make a difference.

We partner with social service organizations that support the homeless with monthly dens at the listed locations and times. Volunteering at one or sharing your digital experience are welcomed!
